Congrats on a long overdue promotion

Hi there and Happy Friday!!!

Here’s a card I made my fiancé for a promotion he just got that has been way overdue!!

Just a simple card using Cricut’s Beyond Birthdays & Cuttin’ Up cartridges. Using the CDS I welded the shadow of the Congrats to the Base of the Card.

Using Beyond Birthdays I cut the Congrats at 5 1/4” and You Did It at 1 7/8”. For Scott’s name I used Cuttin’ Up and welded the letters using the cartoon and shadow features, cut at 1 7/8”.

Here’s a pic of it with the back side of the envie:

And here’s with the front of the envie:

And of course I had to do a little on the inside:

Celebratory Recipe:
-CS: Bazzill Basics “Mocha Devine” and “Palo Verde”, and a shade of orange Bazzill CD
-PPs: DCWV “Once Upon a Time” stack
-Fluid Chalk Inks: “Chestnut Roan” and “Amber Clay”
-Cricut Carts: Beyond Birthdays and Cuttin’ Up

TFL!!

PS - My new crafting station is done, I just need to organize things and take pictures to show you. Stay tuned...

Lots of stuff - Overdue B-day Card, Updated pic of my nephew, Soon to have a new Crafting Station and finally back to posting

Hi everyone, sorry I've been so quiet, things have been very busy this summer and unfortunately not much too time to craft. :(

But anyway, I did get to doing a birthday card for my Aunt Joan, but of course it was a belated and I'm posting it much later than I made it. I made it mid-October and her b-day was at least two weeks prior to that. Oops! But at least she like it. :)

I actually used one of Taylor's sketches (#86) but unfortunately didn't finish it in time so I didn't fully stick to the sketch. I also used one of her stamps which is the Happy Birthday sentiment from her really beautiful Fresh Flowers set. You really should check out her store, Taylored Expressions, she has beautiful stamps that are unmounted so they are extremely reasonably priced and they come with an EZ Mount cling cushion AND they are already die cut, unlike SU! (which are great stamps too, but you have to cut them out yourself and mount them on blocks).

So anyway, here's the card:

Just love Stampendous' Scrumptious Shoes:

Here's the inside, the scrolly frame is from Cricut's Storybook cartridge with some doodling I did with a white gelly roll pen and some rhinestones:

And here it is again showing the back of the envie:

Scrumptious Recipe:
-CS: Bazzill Basics "Brandy Wine" and "Rain"
-PPs: K&Company "Brenda Walton "Madeline"
-Stamps: Stampendous' Scrumptious Shoes "Sundae" (just the shoe) and Taylored Expressions "Fresh Flowers Set" (Just the Happy Birthday sentiment)
-Fluid Chalk Inks: Colorbox "Celadon"
-Prismacolor Pencils: PC943 Burnt Orchre, PC950 Metallic Gold, PC914 Cream, PC949 Metallic Silver, PC1005 Lime Green, PC928 Blush Pink, PC925 Crimson Lake, PC930 Magenta, PC916 Canary Yellow
-Ribbon: Offray "Kendra Lt Pink/Opal"
-Punches: MS "Doily Lace" edge punch
-Cricut: Storybook "Vine" (pg 51 of the manual) cut at 2 1/2" and the letters at 1" using the Shorty/Holes feature
-Misc: Black Pigment Ink, Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Adhesive, Gamsol, Rhinestones, Pop dots, Thread

PS - My DF is finishing my new crafting station today, FINALLY!!
He started it last summer, had all the materials but ran out of time. We both have the day off today and plan to not stop until it is done.
Currently this is what I have had been using, look at that tiny workspace! ;p
This is in my upstairs hallway:

This is one of the closets I've been using that is in the room that my NEW USER FRIENDLY station will be (No longer in the hallway!), I've also been using the hallway closet. All of this will be part of and/or in my new workstation:

So stay tuned for pictures of my NEW USER FRIENDLY crafting station!!!

And while I'm at it I would like to share a current picture of my cute nephew, Chase (sadly this is only the 2nd time I've had a picture of him with me), I plan to have more!:

Happy B-day to a great sister-in-law

Here's a birthday card that I made for my amazing sister-in-law. I had the hardest time getting pictures to show the true colors of the papers and everything. The picture with the envie is the closest I could get.

Anyway, here's the cover:

I love this cupcake from a Hero Arts Clear Design Cupcakes set (which the sentiment above is from) and I just love stickles which I covered the wood flower from Kaiser:

The paper I used is double-sided which is so great when making cards to have such a pretty background on the outside and inside:

This sentiment is part of a stamp from one Stampendous' Scrumptious Shoes (I LOVE those stamps):

And here's the envie:

Cupcake mixture:
-CS: The Paper Co "Antique Rose" and Bazzill Basics "Tutu Pink"
-PP: K&Company "Classic K Mango Paper Pad"
-Stamps: Hero Arts Clear Design Cupcakes and Stampendous' Scrumptious Shoes "Birthday Cake" (just the sentiment)

Life is Good for a Graduate...BBTB Challenge

Here's a LO I did for a BBTB challenge months ago but never got around to posting. The challenge was to use Life is Good from Graphically Speaking. I used Alphalicious for the other lettering which I welded together with CDS and added a shadow.

For the cap I used a tutorial that I came across and can't remember where so I can't give credit were it is due. Sorry! It uses George and Basic Shapes.

I though it was really cool how the school did the senior pictures. They did some with proper attire and then some with what teenagers will wear. We really liked how this picture came out and so did AJ, so it became the one for that pose. So I thought I would use this challenge and picture for another scrapbook page from my future in-laws:

I inked the edges of the cap with Frosted White pigment ink:

Recipe:
-CS: DCWV "White Texture" and MM "Smooth Cranberry"
-PP: SandyLion "Graduation Caps - Clear Foil"
-Cricut carts: Graphically Speaking for Life is Good cute at 3 1/2" and
Alphalicious for Senior Year 2009 cute at 1 1/2" welded with a shadow and
George for the Grad Cap; triangle @ 2 3/4" and a cylinder at 1 3/4"
-Misc: DMC Floss #902, Colorbox Frosted White Pigment Ink

Mother's Day Cards

Time just flies doesn't it! Mother's Day is this weekend and I'm finally finishing my cards for my mom and my Grandmother. One of them was using this past weeks Bitten By The Bug challenge which was to use the Vase and the word Mom from the Beyond Birthdays cartridge. You should see all the beautiful things the girls did with this challenge!

Here's mine, which I kind of made it into a shaped card:

I also used a printable stamp from The Cutting Café from Regina's All About Mom set. It's a really great set with a BUNCH of great stamps (you'll see a few more that I used on my Grandmother's card:

I cut out a butterfly and some of the flowers from the gorgeous SEI paper:

Here's the back where you can see I welded the Vase, Mom and a rectangle together using the CDS:

I really like this stamp, I'm not sure who it's by, I used at my LSS during a workshop. I stamped it a bunch of times on different papers to have a few on hand ;p:

And as always with the matching envelop. The leafy ribbon was left over from the workshop I took, it's really pretty but doesn't photograph well.

And here's the card I made my Grandmother, using 2 more printable stamps from the All About Mom set at The Cutting Café.

These are actually two separate printable stamps that I imported into Inkscape so I could print them together on the same paper:

I just love anything scrolly!:

Using Inkscape again I was able to delete everything except the blossoms so I could print those on a separate piece of paper without wasting to much of it:

And of course I always have to jazz up the inside:

Mother's Love:
-CS: Bazzill Basics "Guacamole", "Fussy", "Piglet"
-PPs: SEI Chocolat Cherie and Basic Grey Porcelain "Chintz" and "Chatsworth"
-Printable Stamps: All About Mom from The Cutting Café
-Cricut Cuts: Beyond Birthdays for the Vase cut at 5 3/4" with a shadow and the word Mom cut at 1 1/8" with a shadow all welded with a rectangle from George. And the scallop is from AE cut at 1 3/4" with a shadow

-CS: Bazzill Basics "Palo Verde" and "Tropical"
-PPs: K&Company "K-Ology Peabody" Scrap Pad to Go and MM "Noteworthy Audrey"
-Printable Stamps: All About Mom from The Cutting Café
-Rubber Stamps: Inkadinkado "Handmade with Love"
-Misc: Pigment Ink, Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Satin Ribbon

TFL and Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!!!

Changito Birthday and the BUG BLOG HOP Winner!!

I want to thank everyone who gave me their advice on what they use to adhere letters without having all those frays or wasting all that time trying to remove them. It seems I've completely missed the boat on this Zig 2-way glue pen. I've picked one up and my next project I'll be giving it a try. So I have used Random.org to pick out the winner of the blog candy I'm giving away for the Bitten By The Bug's 1st Bug Blog Hop. But I'll get to that in a minute.

Puppy Dog Tails...BBTB Challenge & BUG BLOG HOP

Some very fun and exciting news going on over at the Bitten By The Bug site...we are having our first BUG BLOG HOP in which some of the design team members are giving away some yummy Blog Candy, like myself this week. This is our 1st hop and there will be more to come!

So 1st I will show you what I did for challenge, which was to use ANY cut from the Doodlecharms cartridge BUT using the border feature. You should go over to the BBTB site and see all the wonderful things that the other DT members did.

I decided to use the cute puppy face and make a card for my nephew for his Baptism that was held this past Sunday.

I kind of made it into a shaped card with the 1st puppy face and welded the words to it.

I used the Cuttin' Up cartridge for the words:

Isn't he a cutie (although not anywhere near as cute as my nephew):

I just love these frogs I cut out from some PP from Cloud9:

With the envie:

And I just had to add a good amount of that so cute PP for the flap of the envie:

BUT here's the real cutie! At 10 weeks old and only getting cuter!

Now for the really cool thing...the BUG BLOG HOP...here is the candy that I'm giving away:

-Self-adhering stamps by Inque Boutique see d's, it's a set of 7 stamps and comes with a stamping mat
-Colorbox's Chianti (Red) Pigment Ink
-Stampendous Embossing Powder - Clear Transparent
-Best Occasions Vellum Quote Romance Pack
-Sweet Treat Ribbon

I'll be using random.org to pick the winner...all you have to do is leave me a comment on this post and help me out with a problem I can't figure out...I use Herma Dotto's Dispenser using their removable adhesive which I love how easy it is to apply BUT my problem is it's such a pain to clean the edges of the cut image from having little "frays" of the adhesive. So my question to you is what adhesive or more importantly what method do you use to adhere letters/images from one card stock to another card stock without having all the little "frays" show up around the edges?

Once you've done that, I will enter you in the drawing and then you continue on with the hop by going over to Penny Shuberg's blog and see her so very cute project done for the BBTB challenge and also see what she has for Blog Candy to give away!

Please leave your comment to this post by midnight EST Saturday, May 2nd and I'll will announce the winner on Sunday. Thanks!

OH, and if you have the same adhesive problem I have just leave me a comment that you came and visited my site so I can enter you in the drawing. :)

Recipe:
-CS: Bazzill Basics "Iced Cocoa", "Cinnamon Stick", "Safari" & "Mocha Divine" and
The Paper Company "Pastel Pink Texture" & "Navy Blue"
-PP: Cloud9 Design "Sparkle Baby Boy Frogs"
-Fluid Chalk Inks: Colorbox "Rose Coral", "Creamy Brown" and "Chestnut Roan"
-Cricut Carts: Doodlecharms cut at 3" using the border feature and Cuttin' Up cut at 1" using the shadow and cartoon features (welded in CDS).

Blossoms and Blooms

This past weeks Bitten By the Bug challenge was to use the word spring from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. You should go over and see all the very cute and pretty things the other design team members did.

For my project I used this really cool item from The Cutting Café. Regina really knows how to make some great boxes and card holders. This one is her Greeting Card Holder which can hold 4 quarter fold cards with envies (2 on each side). It can also be used for other things like in my case I used it as a seed packet holder.

And when you open it up you find the seed packets or cards or whatever you feel like putting in it:

This is the cut from Stretch Your Imagination:

You must go over to the The Cutting Café to see the cutest Easter printable stamp sets that Regina has made. They are sooo cute! You can see them here.

Martini Birthday!

Today we are celebrating my fiance's father's b-day who happens to love martinis so this is the perfect stamp for him! ;p

Now, you know how you always try to plan on getting your projects done on time but of course you either get interrupted with something else or it takes much longer to do...well I figured I would be able to finish his card this morning before we had to leave by noon by getting up around 8ish. Well I wake up at 5:00AM for some reason and can't get back to sleep as much as I tried. So I'm going through my to do list in my head and all of a sudden I realized that I'm using Glossy Accents to make the martini glass look real and how it takes a bit to dry, ah!!!

Now, I'm the kind of person that likes to sleep to 9ish on the weekends if I can, so getting up at 5:00 became pretty brutal after an hour or so as my eyes are burning because I'm also the kind of person that doesn't get to sleep until midnight or 1:00AM.

So I get up and get started right away and here it is.

Glossy accents for the glass:

Martini Mix:
-CS: Bazzill Basics "Capers" and "Palo Verde"
-PPs: K&Company Scrap Pad to Go "K-Ology Peabody" and Deja View Fresh Print Blue Raspberry Pad
-Stamps: Sparkles N Sprinkle "Max in a Martini Glass" and Stampendous "Birthday Topper" (on the inside of the card, so I couldn't get a good picture of it)
-Misc: Adhesive, Glossy Accents, Mini Pot Dots, Fluid Chalk Inks

Sending Positive Thoughts

There are two people that I know that are going through a very tough time right now with chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery due to a very unfair cancer they have. Why does it have to be the good people? So here are a couple pocket and tag cards that I made that hopefully will give them a little smile.

This 1st one is for the mother of friend from the Bitten By the Bug design team...

I added a couple drops of Glossy Accents to give that fresh morning dew look:

Inside the attached tiny card:

It's a little hard to read but it says Laugh Often, it's a cut from the Beyond Birthday cartridge, I've used it twice now and have discovered that from now on I should stick to a solid cardstock to make it easier to read:

Does this help you see it?

I didn't have to but I embellished the back of the tag because I made a boo-boo when I cut the tag, for some reason I thought I needed two and I used this great double-sided paper so I figured I might as well us it!

This one is for a friend of mine at work who finally had to take a leave of absence due to the toll of the treatments has had on him. It's a good idea to do that so he can focus on getting healthy and spend time with his wife and children.

Now I tried to keep this as manly as I could but I used a double-sided patterned paper and loved the olive side but the other side has a pinkish color to it, so I added as much brown to the rest of it:

Inside the attached tiny card:

Brown buttons, brown ribbon think it helps to make it more manly??? I don't know...

I decided to make the same boo-boo I made with the other one and embellished the back of the tag on this one too ;p

Hopefully a recipe to help cure cancer:

Another Aunt's Birthday this time with Scrumtious Shoes

I thought this stamp would an appropriate image to use for my Aunt Diana, who just celebrated a birthday. I do love these Scrumptious Shoes by Stampendous! Especially since they are fun to color in with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

Isn't this shoe so yummy!!!

I popped up the frosting a little to give it some dimension:

My very good and generous friend, Tracy Gough, sent me these gorgeous pins with gems on the tips (I added a few more):

And of course I always have to embellish the inside:

Grilling LO...kinda for the BBTB...I've been tagged

OK, I starting working on my Bitten By The Bug project on time but ended up getting interrupted by lots of stuff and wasn't able to get back to it today. Bad, bad, bad design team member!!!

This is another LO I did for my future mother-in-law...my promise to make her a scrapbook of her grandkids.

The BBTB challenge was to use the "laugh often" cut from the Beyond Birthday cartridge. You really should go over and see all the beautiful things the other DTs did with this challenge!

Here's mine:

This is a really fun cut, great for using on a card to cheer someone up:

On this really cool designer paper by Flair Designs "Hot Off the Grill" there were these really great images and off course when you do a LO you end up covering some great stuff, so I cut out these images where I placed my pictures, matted them on some dark CS to make them pop:

Now onto a different topic, I've been tagged by Donna, who is a very talented lady and a fellow design team member on The Cutting Café. I'm to post the 4th pic in one of my files and explain it. So here it is:

This is my adorable nephew, Chase, who is now 5 weeks old, isn't he a cutie!?!?!

Now I'm going to tag...Glee, Becky, Cindy and Claudia. Must check out blogs for some really great inspiration!
